  ASIAN DIGITAL COMPETITION JURY
 
Erika GREGOR has served as the programmer and organizer for the Arsenal cinema in Berlin since its foundation in 1970. From 1971 to 2004 she was a member of the selection committee for the International Forum of New Cinema of the Berlin Film Festival. Her various capacities included serving as festival organizer and coordinator, member of festival juries and film funding commissions. She has curated retrospectives, national and thematic film programmes in the 80s and 90s, and published books and catalogues including, together with Ulrich Gregor, the ongoing series “Kinemathek”.
 
 
XIE Fei was born in Shanxi, China in 1942. A graduate of the Beijing Film Academy, Xie has also served at his alma mater as the Vice President and as a professor. He made his directorial debut with 1983’s Our Farmland. A Girl from Hunan (86) was shown in Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard. Black Snow (89) and Woman from the Lake of Scented Souls (92) won the Silver and Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, respectively. After 1995’s A Mongolian Tale (Best Director, Montreal World Film Festival) and 2000’s Song of Tibet, he has concentrated on directing TV drama.
 
 
Fruit CHAN first rocked the film world with his 1997 feature Made in Hong Kong, completed with stockpiled short ends of film stock. The film won numerous awards, including the Special Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival. Chan followed this up with The Longest Summer (98) and Little Cheung (99), which was awarded Locarno Film Festival’s Silver Leopard. His first two films in the “Prostitute Trilogy,” Durian Durian (00) and Hollywood Hong Kong (01), were both presented at the Venice Film Festival. Other works include his first digital feature Public Toilet (02) and Dumplings (04).
